桜と私 （Cherry blossoms and me）

 

本文：　桜と私　

今日は仕事が早く片付いた。

ちょうど今は桜の満開の時期であることに気づいた。

私は帰宅経路から外れて、駅を降りて、とある公園に向かった。

まだ昼の3時なので、学生もサラリーマンも見かけない。

私は公園の奥の植物園を目指して、歩いていった。

その途中には、桜並木がある。

桜並木までたどり着き、足を止めた。

そして近くのベンチに腰掛けた。

目をつぶる。

桜を見る前に、精神を整えた。

頭の中にある仕事の余韻の残像を拭い去った。

そして頭の空にして、しばらく目をつぶっていた。

そよ風が吹いた。

風の音を感じた。

風への頬の肌触りを感じた。

またしばらくして、小鳥が鳴く声が聞こえてきた。

こうして10分ぐらい経った。

私はベンチを立ち、桜の近くに近づいた。

やはり今年の桜も毎年の桜と同じように、とても愛おしく感じられた。

桜の花は毎年咲く。

しかし桜の花の時間は短い。

だからこそ私たちは毎年、この花をどのくらい長くみるのかという選択を迫られる。

人の一生は平均80数年。

私は残りの生涯、どのくらい、桜の花をあいすることができるのだろうか、そんな疑問をいだいた。

I got off the station, off my route home, and headed for a certain park.

I walked toward the botanical garden at the far end of the park.

Along the way, there was a row of cherry blossom trees.

I reached the rows of cherry trees and stopped.

I sat down on a bench nearby.

I closed my eyes.

Before looking at the cherry blossoms, he mentally adjusted his mind.

I wiped away the lingering images of work in my head.

Then I emptied my head and closed my eyes for a while.

A gentle breeze blew.

I felt the sound of the wind.

I felt the touch of my cheek against the wind.

After a while, I heard the sound of birds chirping again.

About ten minutes passed in this way.

I left the bench and approached the cherry blossoms.

I knew that this year's cherry blossoms were just as lovely as the ones I see every year.

Cherry blossoms bloom every year.

But the time of cherry blossoms is short.

That is why we have to make a choice every year as to how long we will see the blossoms.

The average human life is 80-odd years.

I wondered how long I would be able to enjoy the cherry blossoms for the rest of my life.
